A few days ago Firefox broke 20 million downloads. That's seven zeros, mind you. Asa has a graph of the cumulative downloads and daily downloads over time. IE6 dominates the browser market with 65.4%, which is a 1.4% dip, while Firefox is at 19.1% for the month of January (Source). Of the total visitors to my blog, 49.6% uses IE (both IE6 and IE5 combined), 33.1% uses Firefox, while 7% uses Mozilla. 67.1% of the visitors are on Windows platform, while 18.3% are on Linux platform. This means that of the 67.1% Windows users, possibly 1/3 of them are using Firefox! This goes to show that more and more people who are on the Windows platform are using Firefox. Great news indeed. All this statistics are for the month of January 2005 up until today. FYI, for the month of January, my blog has 3626 unique visitors, with 5966 visit that generates roughly 45,000 hits (this excludes visits from bots and crawlers).

I used to believe that Singapore is such a bad-ass country because you can get fined for virtually any offence imagineable. The trend now is coming to Malaysia! Whee! Now, only in Malaysia, you'll be fined if you overstayed in PLUS highway. No kidding. Apperantly, the move was to "prevent motorists from exploiting a loophole in the fines for lost transit cards and Touch n Go cards for short journeys", according to Khalila Mohd Talha, PLUS's senior general manager (corporate communications). Yeah, whatever. According to Datuk Dr. George George (wassup with the plural, yo!?), PLUS's action may send wrong message to motorists, such "speed up or you'll get fined!". So, people, it is OK to speed, else you'll be fined.

OK. Don't. Frankly though, I am not surprised that Malaysia's largest high concessioniers hs resorted to bully tactics to extort more money from motorists. I mean, if there's a loophole in the bloody lost cards and touch n go, then fix the damn thing! Capitalist!

Imagine this: your primary school kids in the same class with an-84 year old pupil who has disruptive influences on the rest! And he's a prefect, nevertheless!

The headmistress, Jane Obinchu, said: "I was impressed by his desire to learn and gave him a place." He was popular with pupils and teachers and was made a prefect. But when he began his second year this month, some parents protested. Mr Maruge was a "smart Alec" prone to histrionics, one said.

"Our children don't concentrate," the parent said. "They are too busy wondering what he is going to do next. He tries to dominate the class."

Mrs Obinchu says the accusations are "poppycock" but parents counter that Mr. Maruge - who was top of his class last year - has become a teacher's pet and have questioned his grades.

A parents' delegation went to the mayor's office yesterday demanding his expulsion and the removal of the headmistress.

"If I am expelled I will surely die," said Mr Maruge. He is planning to sue the British Government for alleged abuse during the 1950s Mau Mau rebellion. "I am learning how to add and subtract so I can count my money," he said. (Source
