Being an Iban (yanno, headhunter, yanno, we chop heads, yanno, things like that), this post by itchymicchi just cracks me up:

this moment of idiocy. being a sino-bidayuh, i have to check the race box that says "lain-lain" when i fill out official forms and stuff - it just means i'm other than the holy trinity of chinese/malay/indian.

there's a potential for a rant here, but i think i've done that; albeit incoherently. the point is, i've always wanted to go all game-geek on the person handling those forms, and exclaim -

"I am Not like the Rest Of You... I am Other."

and then i will sweep majestically out of the office, leaving the room filled with hushed awe, but more likely filled with bafflement. and then they will look at the form i'd have filled out, and realise that i spoke the Truth. and then they will nod reverently, saying, "it's true, She is Other." phwoar.

A jilted woman admitted ripping off her ex-lover's testicle with her hands after he refused to have sex with her.

Amanda Monti, 24, flew into a rage after her former boyfriend, Geoffrey Jones, 37, rejected her advances at the end of a drunken house party. She yanked off his left testicle, which was later handed to him by a friend with the words: "That's yours."

Monti, of Birkenhead, Merseyside, pleaded guilty to wounding at Liverpool crown court yesterday and will be sentenced next month.

The court heard that Mr Jones had ended his long-term relationship with Monti towards the end of May last year. The pair remained on good terms and on May 30, Monti drove him to a party and then home again, where friends joined them for more drinks.

Monti told Mr Jones she wanted to discuss their relationship and offered him sex. When he refused, she grabbed his face and a struggle ensued.

Mr Jones threw Monti out of the house. She then smashed a window. Another struggle took place and Monti was knocked to the floor, from where she pulled down Mr Jones's shorts.

Monti initially tried to hide the testicle by putting it in her mouth, but released it. Doctors were unable to reattach the organ.

Wendy Lloyd, defending, said her client did not remember much of the struggle. But she accepted the prosecution's version of events and did not claim to have acted in self-defence.

It's been a busy week for me lately - tons of running around to do. What to do? That's the price one pays for not having a steady job. But then again I got no complains except one: the effort that one puts in (if you're doing IT shiznitz) is much bigger than the fruit that one gets.

The results are available. Tracking started at midnight last night, 7 January 2005. More statistics will be available when I've collected enough data.

Now, can anyone suggest where I can get more data regarding local blogs other than from PPS?

In case you don't know, PPS is a "a blog portal. In itself, it isn't a blog, but it acts as a portal that aggregates (i.e. mengumpulkan or brings together) the freshest and latest content from a cross-section of Malaysian made, Malaysian maintained blogs." (Source). One of the great thing that I get out of this is new blogs - all kinds of blogs you can find there including things like omg, i'm fainting because of the kembangness (now that's a good blog posting title). What I found lacking however is the presence of a public tracker that tracks new blogs that ping to PPS. I'm not privy to this information - I think the owners of PPS have all the info and statistics. But anyways, I've wrote a little Perl and a little PHP and I'm now tracking blogs that ping to PPS. All the results will be published here. This page will be updated daily starting next week. You will get to see:

• How many blogs are pinging PPS


• New blogs that are pinging PPS

Based on this, one can deduce how fast Malaysian blogosphere is growing (assuming that most bloggers ping PPS). Currently, there are a total of 110 blogs pinging PPS (info gathered since midnight last night).

So, check back often and see how far we've peed.

On another note, another personal project of mine is also related to PPS - blog headline analysis. I'm still working on the codes - I just wished that PPS owners have an RSS. It'll make my coding easier. Anyways, check back and based on headline analysis, you'll get to see what local bloggers are writing about.
