he who makes a beast of himself gets rid the pain of being a man

my favorite heists, ordered by watching sequence:

  • the italian job. watched this back when i haven't reached puberty, on tv2 (no shit!). michael caine, his roadies, including a computer hacker who carried a tape drive the size of an AM radio to hack a power plant, and of course, mini coopers, captured my imagination back then. the chase scenes were good, the minis were slick, and the movie itself - evergreen.

  • killing zoe. this one has it all: blood, violence, drugs, madness, moral dilemma - but the scene i remember the most was the pub scene, where the robbers got drunk the day before the heist. the cinematography blurred as the robbers got high, which pretty much sets the tone for the ending. and julie delpy... mmm mmm hot!

  • dog day afternoon. classic. pacino's finest performance. ever.

  • inside man. clever plots, great acting by denzel washington and clive owen, sly political, social, moral and racial commentaries, two d cups (but where's the nips?), and one heck of hindi soundtrack. and it's a spike lee's joint. must watch movie for 2006.
