BoingBoing has a posting about
geek dreams. So here's mine:
- One of the worst (and possibly the coolest) dream that I had was way back when I was an electrical engineering undergraduate. I was stucked on the design of a digital circuit for a lab assignment. I spent the entire day designing and redesigning and it never worked (plus, I totally hated the subject). Later that night, I dreamt that I solved the problem and designed a fully functional circuit! When I woke up however, I forgotten how I designed the circuit. I didn't did well in that lab assignment
- Just two days ago, I was doing an
emerge -DUuv world on my Gentoo box. It was late at night, and there was like 50 or so packages to go. I went to sleep, and I dreamt that I was staring at the monitor all throughout the updating process! I think this dream was due to the fact that I was paranoid that the emerging process might break somewhere. When I woke, there was nothing to be worried about anyway.
- This dream was a kicker. In the dream, I was surfing a website, using Mozilla. Problem was - the network was damn slow and it took ages to load the website (I don't remember which). And I was waiting and waiting and the funny thing was, I could felt the "burden" of pulling the webpage... When it looked like the page was about to be completely loaded, I got an 404 error! And the dream continued again...
Well, I had other dreams as well, and most of those involve me solving problems that I could not solve during the day. I guess this is due to the fact that when I am so hell bent on solving a problem, my brain will unconsciously solve it for me in my dream. Problem is, when I woke up, I know that I've solved it in my dream, but I don't remember how!
