some updates

• been busy. securing a huge environment with multiple operating systems, application servers and host and application configurations is not as easy as i thought it would be. there's just tons of politics involved, and stakeholders expectations to meet.


• been sick. it's tough to stay awake when the meds keep you drowsy.


• been sleepless. it's either the meds or the unpredictable weather, but sleep has not been sound these days.


• been bored. work and busy schedule greatly reduce my time to finding and listening to new music.


• been defeated. i've to admit - i'll never be able to rap.


• been laden. oops. that was uncalled for.

so i haven't been able to rap like fatlip or q-tip, does this mean that i have to really reconsider pursuing a career as a rap artist? please be honest in the comment.

port forwarding in firehol:

i have a freebsd box in my home network. the internal ip address is 192.168.1.66 and 192.168.1.67 (it has two interfaces, i'm so hardcore i gotta ha'd my ssh). i have a gentoo linux box as the gateway (evil.com). i want to connect to the freebsd box from the internet as follows:
ssh -l evilf0rk -p 6667 evil.com ssh -l evilf0rk -p 6668 evil.com
so, i need to port forward 6667 and 6668 to port 22 on 192.168.1.66 and 192.168.1.67 respectively. this is easily done in firehol:

add the following before any interface declaration:
dnat to 192.168.1.66:22 inface ppp+ proto tcp dport 6667 dnat to 192.168.1.67:22 inface ppp+ proto tcp dport 6668
create two new router declaration

router dnat inface ppp+ dst 192.168.1.66
    route custom myssh1 tcp/6667 any accept
router dnat2 inface ppp+ dst 192.168.1.67
    route custom myssh2 tcp/6668 any accept

and you is all set!
