[ seriously, i've ran out clever thingamajick to write. i may as well just stop blogging and start harrassing random people in the streets. now, which street?]
it's the weekend (and i'll be on a long-haul flight to brazil), so i recommend:
they are (clockwise from top left) Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works (85 - 92), Retrospectacle - The Supertramp Anthology, Iron and Wine - Our Endless Numbered Days, and, Mars Volta - Frances the Mute.
and oh, does anyone have The Young Meteors by Greg Summerlin?
not recommended is of course, franz ferdinand, that band that supposedly regurgitated 80's rock. rock? rock my ass.

hey, it IS alt country. just found it on my americana compilation from uncut magazine (free until they cut me down). is this track on the album? how does it compare to the other tracks?

ALT country, mr. pigs crawling up trees. the track's called 'free until they cut me down' - quite minimalist, with a somewhat (dare i say it) country guitar line.
[sze] yup the track's there. most of the tracks are quite minimalists, with acoustics and very little percussions. i think iron and wine is more alt folk. here.
Air your ass properly before boarding the flight. What brings you to Brazil? The chicks? or work?
be sure to punctuate that trip with lots of caipirinhas.
