Pardon my ignorance, what is the problem that Ruby is trying to solve that Java and or .Net cannot solve? My understanding is that Ruby on Rails is an Architectural Framework/Middleware to solve and simplify programming in a MVC environment. But then again, what do I know?, still learning from my sifu....
[mac] web framework - java have that, mvc - java have that. usability - java have that. agility, use case driven design, iterative methodology - java solves that as well. so in essence, ruby does the same. except that it does it better.
yes rails in an mvc (similar to java's struts, or python's framework). compared to struts, you don't need the 'hand-holding' to learn rails. |
