xcompmgr, gnome and oh my what a lovely pair of nice uhmm-ermmms u have

first thing first, i am totally not digging wordpress 2.0's rich editor. is there anyway that i can disable it permanently?

anyways, i've beautified gnome 2.12 runnning on my notebook:

• emerged xcompmgr and now i have shadowing effect.


• installed the tango icons


• 
  
  used the clearlooks theme
  
  

• clicking logout (from the gnome-panel) seemed to "hang" gnome. this was because the gnome-logout dialog box was "invicible", to really logout, you need to press 'enter'. i got around this by disabling the gnome-logout dialog box. this can be done by launching gconf-editor, and unchecking logout_prompt in /app/gnome-session/options.


• logging in the first time after reboot, the bottom panel is invicible. so i logged out, then logged in, it'll reappear. weird.


• sometimes xcompmgr runs fine, sometimes it makes gnome so sluggish. i don't know what's causing this.
